Bitmagic announced today that it’s launching its 3D games creation platform in Steam Early Access, which gives the average consumer the ability to create games or assets with text prompts. The platform is currently a limited release, with users only able to access it via Bitmagic or its Discord. However, Bitmagic plans the open release for May, with support for web browsers and multiplayer.
According to the company, its platform offers users the ability to create 3D assets by typing prompts into a text box. The Bitmagic platform interprets the request, then builds the assets and game around the prompts, and it can be further refined after generation.
Jani Penttinen, Bitmagic’s CEO, said in a statement, “We’re delighted to offer access to more creators and give them the chance to make the game they always dreamed of. We really do think this can change how the games industry functions, and truly democratize the process, and allow creators, who may not have technical or coding skills, to make rich 3D games, easily.”
Bitmagic first launched the public test for its platform last November. The creation engine also creates a background story for the game world based on the concept given in the prompt. It supposedly offers anyone the chance to create a game, no coding or technical knowledge required.
