Simple and easy-to-print couch clamp for cross-stitch scroll frames. Minimal support is required. This model is printed in 3 parts which can be customised to suit the application.
Cross stitching, particularly with large frames, takes a long time and can cause strain in the wrist supporting the frame. I designed this support for my partner to alleviate wrist pain she was developing on her 500-hour cross stitch project.
The clamp is designed with the following parameters. Please modify as required to suit different scroll frames or couch arm sizes.
Couch Arm Width: 75mm
Scroll Frame Arm Width: 25.3mm
Scroll Frame Arm Depth: 8.3mm
Aluminium Tube Diameter: 20mm
An aluminium tube is used for the vertical and horizontal supports. The design is based on 20×1.6mm tube available at most hardware stores. A 1m length cut to size should be enough for most applications. A hacksaw will be suitable for cutting the tube, but the cleanest cut will be obtained with a pipe cutter. Be sure to remove any burrs created while cutting.

Print settings for ASA-CF are contained in the attached .3mf files.
These settings can be modified to achieve suitable strength with PLA or PETG.
Recommended print orientation is shown in images and in .3mf files.
All Parts: Recommend printing with a minimum 3 walls for strength.
Frame Clamp: Support is only recommended for the overhang inside the frame clamp, all other parts are designed to print without any support required.
Tube Clamp: Outer brim of 6mm is recommended for the tube clamp to ensure adequate bed adhesion.
