The Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest is a Much-Watch Live Cam « Adafruit Industries – Makers, hackers, artists, designers and engineers!

Last night, my wife and I were clicking around YouTube on our family-room TV and happened upon the Big Bear Bald Eagle Live Cam. We ended up watching the live cam and some of the recorded footage on the channel for over an hour! We loved it.

It is absolutely fascinating to watch the comings and goings of Jackie and Shadow, the two gorgeous bald eagles who live in their massive nest high above Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino National Forest (Southern California).

At any given moment, 6-8K people are watching the avian couple go about their lives, laying eggs and taking turns incubating them, bringing back food and nesting materials, cleaning house, fighting the elements, and engaging in domestic quarrels. It’s must-see reality TV!

The pair have gotten a “boost in the ratings” ever since ABC World News Tonight did a segment on them and the 4 eggs they are currently sitting on (due to hatch in a couple of weeks).
