1Slow’s Brooklyn Gray M2 Build- Perf Center Delivery & Matte PPF

BIMMERPOST

Hi all!

After 8 month wait (deposit was put May 1, 2023) I finally took delivery of my Brooklyn Gray M2!

Order history: when I first put my deposit I had spec’d out a Toronto Red Manual, almost base build but as time went on I was torn between Alpine and Brooklyn. What pushed me over the edge was Toronto looks too orange in certain lighting and I already had white car (more on that later).

As for manual or automatic. I currently have two manual cars and having tried the ZF on many cars including my Supra I was pretty happy with the performance and its ability to handle high Torque without modification if I ever decided to tune.

Past Cars: So why did I pick the M2?

Well to give you some background.. Ive had a lot of cars in my past. Some i’ve owned, others I drove/spent a lot of time in due to work (company cars). For the price, I dont think there is a car with a better platform/engine combo than the M2. The Supra is a very close 2nd, after 3 years of ownership I wasnt ready to but another. I bought mine during peak COVID. I mean 10k under MSRP and had to opportunity to still sell it for a small profit after 3 years of use, so I sold it. If i had unlimited space and funds I would have kept it – great car! The M2 for lets say $6k more you get the S58, way more advanced chassis (brakes, TC, LSD, suspension ) and updated interior vs the Supra. AND you dont have to deal with scumbag Toyota dealers. The only thing I dont love about the M2 is the weight but, hey you cant have it all!

2006 S2000 (still own)

2011 328i (still own – slow track build into SpecE9x)

2023 Subaru BRZ (just sold)

2020 Supra (sold in June for the M2)

2013-2023 VW GTI (Having worked for VW/Audi/Porsche, I have basically had/drive every gen’ GTI for last 10 years)

2015 and 2020 Jetta GLI

2015 & 2018 Audi S4

2014 Audi TTS

2015 & 2017 Audi S3

2018 Panamera

2019 Cayman GTS

2019 Boxster S

2020 Boxster GTS

2020 Panamera GTS

1995 325i (Track car – sold)

1990-2005 Miata (have had over 20 of these over the years)

My plan had been to use the 2023 BRZ as a daily/ mostly stock track car but as most of you probably know, this car’s engine had turned out to be very weak and I didnt want to go down the slipper slope of modifying a brand new $33k car into a useless track weapon. So I regrettably sold it in early December and bought a 2011 to slowly build into a SpecE9x track car.

So, after 8ish months, and many delays on Dec 14th I finally took delivery of my 2024 BMW M2 at the BMW Performance Center.

While the driving part was a bit short, the experience considering it was “free” was amazing. Free hotel the night before, dinner, breakfast, lunch and getting to drive their cars, including their M2 for the autox/short track was super fun.
